Combination of Global Vision and Chinese Practice
Reading and Project-Based Learning
Origin Concept: Integration of Reading and Project-Based Learning
We define reading and project-based learning as a comprehensive educational model that combines the depth of traditional reading with the practicality of project-based learning, aiming to cultivate students' 21st century capacities.
We advocate this model because it can provide students with a structured platform for knowledge acquisition and application, and promote the development of their core competencies, such as critical thinking, innovation, communication, and teamwork.
A framework for global thinking in the 21st century
Research Journey: Combining Global Vision with Chinese Practice
Research is based on the challenges faced by future education, guided by the 21st-Century Global Capacities Framework released by Teachers College, Columbia University, and combined with the realities of Chinese education.
We focus on "rooting the Chinese spirit" and "expanding the international vision.” In the design of PBL projects, we emphasize the cultivation of "inter-disciplinary research ability" and "cross-cultural understanding ability.” The focus and structural elements of our curriculum design, through the "reading + PBL" model, ensure the richness of teaching content and the practicality of teaching methods.
Through these research findings, the Future Education Institute enhances teachers' teaching professionalism and lays a solid foundation for students' overall development and future academic exploration. We believe that integrating Reading and PBL can stimulate students' potential and cultivate them into innovators and leaders able to adapt to the fast-changing world.
Our Features
Full-Discipline Applicability
Reading and PBL are not limited to a single discipline. Instead, they cross disciplinary boundaries to provide students with comprehensive knowledge exploration.
Through open reading resources and project-based structures, we have successfully opened the door to cross-disciplinary teaching centered around core competencies.
Combination of Localization and Internationalization
We have combined international educational concepts with the characteristics of Chinese education to form an educational model with local features. Based on the 21st-century core competency of Literacy, released by the Teachers College of Columbia University, we have proposed a localization-based training goal with Chinese characteristics—the 21st-century learner portrait—providing a clear blueprint for students' ability development.
Five-step PBL
Our "Five-step PBL" unit design method simplifies the instructional design process, making it easy for teachers to understand and implement.
This method closely combines reading exploration and project-based learning, is easy for teachers to operate and helps the personalized cultivation and practice of students' abilities.
