Reading & Research Learning Alliance

The Reading & Research Learning Alliance was founded with the support of the Center for the Professional Education of Teachers (CPET) at Teachers College, Columbia University. As a national alliance for school teaching and research, the RRLA is committed to promoting the development of interdisciplinary reading education and research-based and project-based learning. Through cooperation with educational administrative authorities at all levels, universities, and K-12 schools, the RRLA jointly research and popularize interdisciplinary and cross-cultural integrated courses that combine the spirit of local culture and an international perspective.

The alliance promotes teacher development via various activities like conferences, trainings, seminars and summits. These activities aim to guide teachers to deeply explore curriculum design, teaching organization and effective guidance strategies, enhancing their curriculum research and innovation abilities. Also, it encourages exchanges among schools, helping project teachers and schools to broaden their views and grow, enabling new forms of teaching and learning in reading and research-based learning, and becoming a new force in the new-era education reform.

Global Learning Alliance

Global Learners Alliance (GLA)

GLA is a research organization based on the core literacy of global talents and school education for the 21st century. It was initiated by the Center for the Professional Education of Teachers (CPET) at Teachers College, Columbia University, partly inspired by the influential research, “Beyond PISA and TMSS: Education for Twenty-First Century Global Capacities,” presented at the American Education Research Association conference. The GLA covers 8 countries, more than 100 schools and educational research institutions.

It raises a question worthy of consideration by educators around the world: “What are high-quality schools around the world doing, and what should they do, to help students prepare for the 21st century?”

GLA holds a summit every two years, with the previous session being held online affected by the outbreak. The 2025 Summit will be held in Shanghai, China.  

CPET - YOUCH Future Education Institute was jointly founded by YouCH Education Group and the Center for the Professional Education of Teachers (CPET) at Teachers College, Columbia University. It is also a key partner in both the Global Learning Alliance (GLA) and the Reading & Research Learning Alliance (RRLA). The GLA focuses on multinational education research and cooperation for global schools and institutions. The RRLA serves Chinese mainland schools, promotes interdisciplinary reading and project-based learning, provides solutions for Chinese schools' project-based learning, and offers international exchange chances with the help of the GLA.
